Everything you need to know about getting more reviews
🚀 GETTING STARTED
What is ReviewSling?
ReviewSling is a free review page hosting platform that puts all your review links (Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.) and social media profiles in one simple, shareable link. Instead of juggling multiple review URLs, you get one clean page customers can tap to leave a review wherever they prefer.
How does ReviewSling work?
It's simple:
You create a free ReviewSling page and add your review links (Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.)
We give you one shareable link: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Share that link with customers via text, email, QR code, or in person
Customers tap your link, see all your review platforms, and choose where to leave a review
They're taken directly to that platform to write their review
No friction. No "I'll do it later." One tap and they're reviewing you.
Is ReviewSling really free?
Yes. Completely free. Forever.
There are no hidden fees, no trials that expire, and no credit card required. We make money by offering premium services (like Google Business Profile management), but the review page itself is 100% free to create and use.
What review platforms does ReviewSling support?
We support all major review and social platforms:
Review Platforms:
Google Reviews
Facebook Reviews
Yelp
Trustpilot
Tripadvisor
Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Angi (Angie's List)
HomeAdvisor
Thumbtack
OpenTable
Zocdoc
Healthgrades
Amazon Reviews
Etsy Reviews
Social Media:
Instagram
Facebook
LinkedIn
TikTok
Twitter/X
YouTube
If you need a platform we don't have listed, fill out the form and we'll add it.
Do I need a website to use ReviewSling?
No. ReviewSling gives you a hosted review page at reviewsling.com/yourbusiness — that IS your review landing page. You don't need your own website.
However, if you do have a website, you can link to your ReviewSling page from it or embed it as a popup.
Can I use ReviewSling if I already have reviews?
Absolutely. ReviewSling doesn't replace your existing reviews — it makes it easier to get MORE reviews. Your current Google reviews, Yelp reviews, Facebook reviews, etc. all stay exactly where they are. ReviewSling just gives customers an easy way to add new ones.
How is ReviewSling different from just sharing my Google review link?
Three big differences:
Customer choice: Not everyone uses Google. Some prefer Facebook, Yelp, or other platforms. ReviewSling lets them choose.
One link for everything: Instead of texting customers multiple links ("Here's my Google link, here's my Yelp link..."), you send one link that has everything.
Professional appearance: A branded ReviewSling page with your logo looks more professional than a raw Google review URL.
Plus, you get social media links and a downloadable QR code all in one place.
⚙️ SETTING UP YOUR REVIEW PAGE
How do I create my ReviewSling page?
Go to reviewsling.com
Click "Join now"
Fill out the sign-up form with:
Your business name
Your logo (optional but recommended)
Your review links (Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.)
Your social media links (optional)
Submit the form
We'll email you your unique ReviewSling link within minutes
That's it. No account creation, no passwords to remember (unless you want a dashboard to edit later).
How do I add my logo to my review page?
During sign-up, there's a field to upload your logo. Click "Choose File" and upload a PNG, JPG, or SVG file.
Logo tips:
Square logos work best (500x500px or larger)
PNG files with transparent backgrounds look cleanest
Keep file size under 2MB
If you skip this step, your page will just show your business name in text — still works fine, just less branded.
Can I customize the colors on my review page?
Currently, all ReviewSling pages use our standard navy and gold theme for consistency and professionalism.
Custom colors/branding are coming in a future update. If you need custom branding now, contact us at info@reviewsling.com and we'll see what we can do.
How do I add review platforms to my page?
When you fill out the sign-up form, you'll see fields for:
Google Review Link
Facebook Page Link
Yelp Link
Trustpilot Link
Instagram Profile
And more
Just paste the URLs into the appropriate fields. Leave any blank that you don't use — only the platforms you fill in will show up on your page.
Don't have the links yet? Skip to the "Finding Your Review Links" section below for step-by-step instructions.
What if I don't have a review link yet?
No problem. You can still create your ReviewSling page and add the links later.
For now, just fill in whatever you have. Most businesses at minimum have:
A Google Business Profile (even if not claimed yet)
A Facebook page
An Instagram profile
If you need help finding or creating these links, see the section below: "How do I find my Google review link?"
Can I preview my page before sharing it?
Yes. After you submit the sign-up form, we'll email you your unique ReviewSling link. Click it to see how your page looks before sharing it with customers.
If something looks wrong (logo didn't upload, links aren't working, etc.), email us at info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we'll fix it.
How do I change my business information later?
Right now, to update your page you need to email us at info@reviewsling.com with:
Your business name
Your ReviewSling link
What you want to change
We'll update it within 24 hours (usually same day).
Coming soon: A self-service dashboard where you can log in and edit your page anytime.

Select your business location
Click "Home" in the left menu
Scroll down to "Get more reviews"
Click "Share review form"
Copy the link (looks like https://g.page/r/ABC123/review)
Method 2: From Google Search
Google your business name
Your Google Business Profile should appear on the right side
Scroll down to the reviews section
Click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser's address bar
Method 3: From Google Maps
Open Google Maps
Search for your business
Click on your business listing
Scroll down and click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Google review link will look like one of these:
https://g.page/r/ABC123XYZ/review
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ABC123
Paste this into the "Google Review Link" field in your ReviewSling sign-up form.
Where is my Facebook review link?
Facebook calls reviews "Recommendations."
Here's how to find it:
Go to your Facebook Business Page
Look at the URL in your browser
Copy your page name or ID from the URL
Your Facebook review link format: https://www.facebook.com/YourPageName/reviews
Example: If your page is facebook.com/JoesAutoShop, your review link is: facebook.com/JoesAutoShop/reviews
Can't figure it out?
Go to your Facebook page
Click "Reviews" tab (or "Recommendations")
Copy that URL
Paste it into ReviewSling
How do I get my Yelp review link?
Go to yelp.com
Search for your business
Click on your business listing
Scroll down and click "Write a Review" button
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Yelp review link looks like: https://www.yelp.com/writeareview/biz/your-business-name-city
Alternatively:
Find your business on Yelp
Look at the URL (it has your business name in it)
Add /writeareview to the end
Paste this into the "Yelp Link" field in ReviewSling.
Where do I find my Trustpilot review link?
If you have a Trustpilot Business account:
Log into business.trustpilot.com
Go to "Get reviews"
Copy your invitation link
It looks like: https://www.trustpilot.com/evaluate/yourdomain.com
If you don't have a Trustpilot account yet, you'll need to create one at trustpilot.com first.
How do I find my Tripadvisor review link?
Go to tripadvisor.com
Search for your business
Click on your listing
Click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Tripadvisor review link looks like: https://www.tripadvisor.com/UserReviewEdit-g[location]-d[id]-[YourBusiness].html
Or use Tripadvisor's Management Center:
Log into tripadvisor.com/Owners
Go to "Marketing tools" → "Review express"
Copy your review link
What if I can't find my review link?
No worries. Here's what to do:
For Google: Make sure your Google Business Profile is claimed and verified at business.google.com. If it's not set up yet, you won't have a review link.
For Facebook: Make sure you have a Facebook Business Page (not a personal profile). Personal profiles can't receive reviews.
For Yelp: Your business listing might already exist on Yelp even if you didn't create it. Search for your business name on yelp.com — it's probably already there.
Still stuck? Email us at support@reviewsling.com with your business name and which platform you're struggling with. We'll find your link for you.
My Google review link isn't working — what's wrong?
Common issues:
1. Your Google Business Profile isn't verified yet
Go to business.google.com and complete verification (usually via postcard)
You can't get reviews until you're verified
2. You copied the wrong URL
Make sure it ends with /review or has writereview in it
Your regular Google Maps link won't work — it needs to be the specific review link
3. The link format changed
Google sometimes changes their URL structure
Try getting a fresh link from business.google.com → "Get more reviews"
4. The link requires a Google account
Customers need to be logged into a Google account to leave a review
If they don't have Gmail, they'll need to create a free Google account first
Still not working? Email us the link at info@reviewsling.com and we'll test it.
📲 SHARING YOUR REVIEWSLING LINK
How do I share my ReviewSling link with customers?
Method 1: Text Message (Most Effective)
Hi [Name]! Thanks for choosing us. If you have 30 seconds,
we'd really appreciate a quick review: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Method 2: Email Include your ReviewSling link in:
Follow-up emails after service
Order confirmation emails
Email signature
Method 3: QR Code
Download your QR code from your ReviewSling confirmation email
Print it on receipts, business cards, table tents, or signage
Customers scan it with their phone camera
Method 4: In Person Show customers your phone with the link or QR code and say: "Would you mind leaving us a quick review? Here's the link."
Method 5: Social Media Share your ReviewSling link in:
Instagram bio
Facebook page About section
LinkedIn profile
When is the best time to ask for a review?
The golden moment: Immediately after delivering great service, while the customer is still happy.
Best times by industry:
Service businesses (plumber, mechanic, contractor):
Right when you finish the job
Before you leave their property
Within 2 hours via text message
Retail/restaurants:
At checkout/payment
As they're leaving (verbally)
Within 1 hour via text receipt
Appointments (dentist, lawyer, consultant):
End of appointment
At the front desk while checking out
Same day via email
Online businesses:
Order delivered confirmation email
3-5 days after delivery (they've used the product)
Worst time: Days or weeks later — they'll forget or say "I'll do it later" (which never happens).
What should I say when asking for a review?
Keep it simple, genuine, and non-pushy.
❌ DON'T say:
"Please leave me a 5-star review" (sounds desperate, violates platform policies)
"I really need reviews" (makes it about you, not them)
"Leave a review and get 10% off" (illegal on most platforms)
✅ DO say:
In person: "Hey [Name], thanks so much for your business. If you're happy with our service, a quick review would mean the world to us. Here's the link."
Via text: "Hi [Name], thank you for choosing [Business]! If you have 30 seconds, we'd love your feedback: [link]"
Via email: "Thanks for being a great customer! If you enjoyed your experience, we'd appreciate a quick review: [link]"
Pro tip: Say "we'd appreciate YOUR feedback" not "leave us a review." Feels less salesy.
How do I download my QR code?
After creating your ReviewSling page, we email you a link to download your QR code as both:
PNG (for digital use — websites, social media, email)
PDF (for printing — business cards, flyers, signage)
Can't find the email? Check your spam folder for an email from ReviewSling with subject "Your ReviewSling Page is Ready"
Still can't find it? Email info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we'll resend it.
Can I print my ReviewSling QR code on receipts/business cards?
Yes! That's exactly what it's for.
Where to print your QR code:
Receipts (if your POS system allows)
Business cards (back side works great)
Table tents (restaurants, cafes)
Window decals
Product packaging
Thank-you cards
Invoice printouts
Service vehicle magnets
Design tip: Add text near the QR code like:
"Scan to leave a review"
"Love our service? Tell others!"
"Tap to review us"
Makes it clear what the QR code does.
Can I text my ReviewSling link to customers?
Absolutely. Text is actually the most effective way to get reviews.
Best practices for text:
Keep it short: "Hi [Name]! Thanks for your business today. Quick review? [link]"
Send within 2 hours of service (while they remember you)
Use their name (personalization increases response rate)
Don't text too often (once is enough, maybe one follow-up if no response)
Tools for bulk texting: If you want to text multiple customers at once, use services like:
SimpleTexting
EZ Texting
Twilio
Your CRM (many have built-in SMS)
Just remember: Don't spam. Only text customers who've done business with you recently.
How do I add my ReviewSling link to my email signature?
In Gmail:
Click Settings (gear icon) → "See all settings"
Scroll to "Signature"
Add this text:
---
Love our service? Leave a review:
reviewsling.com/yourbusiness
Highlight the link and click the link icon to make it clickable
Save changes
In Outlook:
File → Options → Mail → Signatures
Click "New" to create a signature
Add your link at the bottom
Make sure it's hyperlinked
Save
In Apple Mail:
Mail → Preferences → Signatures
Select your email account
Click "+" to add signature
Add your ReviewSling link
Close to save
Can I share my link on social media?
Yes! Here's how:
Instagram: Add your ReviewSling link to your bio (Instagram doesn't allow clickable links in posts, only in bio)
Facebook:
Pin a post to your business page with your ReviewSling link
Add it to your "About" section
Share it in a post occasionally
LinkedIn: Add it to your profile's "Contact Info" section as a website link
TikTok: Add it to your bio
Twitter/X: Pin a tweet with your ReviewSling link
Pro tip: Don't just spam the link. Frame it as "Want to share your experience? Here's where:" or "We love feedback from our community: [link]"
⭐ MANAGING REVIEWS
Should I respond to every review?
Ideally, yes — especially these:
Always respond to:
Every negative review (within 24 hours if possible)
Every detailed positive review
Reviews from first-time customers
Reviews that mention specific employees or services
Good to respond to:
Short positive reviews (even just "Thanks, [Name]!")
Reviews with photos
Reviews that ask questions
Why it matters:
Shows future customers you care and are engaged
Gives you a chance to address concerns publicly
Improves your ranking on Google (review responses are a ranking signal)
Builds relationships with customers
Don't have time? Consider SteadyRank's review management service — we respond to every review professionally within 24 hours.
How do I respond to a negative review?
Step 1: Don't panic. Don't respond immediately if you're angry.
Step 2: Follow this formula:
Acknowledge their frustration
Apologize (even if you don't fully agree)
Offer to make it right offline
Thank them for feedback
Template: "We're sorry to hear about your experience, [Name]. This isn't the level of service we strive for. We'd love the opportunity to make this right — please call us at [phone] so we can resolve this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention."
What NOT to do: ❌ Argue or get defensive ❌ Make excuses ❌ Blame the customer ❌ Reveal customer's private information ❌ Ask them to delete the review
What TO do: ✅ Respond within 24 hours ✅ Stay professional and calm ✅ Take the conversation offline (phone/email) ✅ Follow up privately to resolve ✅ If you fix it, politely ask if they'd consider updating their review
Can I delete a fake or unfair review?
You can't delete reviews yourself, but you can report them to the platform if they violate policies.
Google will remove reviews that:
Are spam or fake
Contain hate speech or harassment
Are posted by competitors
Reveal private information
Are completely off-topic
Are from someone who never did business with you
Google WON'T remove reviews just because:
They're negative
You disagree with them
They hurt your feelings
The customer misunderstood something
How to report a review on Google:
Find the review in your Google Business Profile
Click the three dots next to it
Click "Flag as inappropriate"
Choose the violation type
Wait 3-7 days for Google's decision
Reality check: Google rejects most removal requests. Your best move is to respond professionally and bury the bad review with lots of new good ones.
What if someone leaves a review on the wrong platform?
This happens sometimes — a customer leaves a Google review when you really wanted a Yelp review, or vice versa.
Here's the truth: You can't move reviews between platforms. Once it's posted, it stays on that platform.
What you CAN do:
Thank them for the review on the platform they chose
Politely ask if they'd consider also leaving feedback on your preferred platform
Make it easy by sending your ReviewSling link again
Example message: "Thanks so much for the kind words on Google! If you have one more minute, we'd also love your feedback on Yelp: [link]. No pressure though — we appreciate you taking the time either way!"
Don't push too hard. One review is better than annoying a customer.
How long does it take for reviews to show up?
Google Reviews: Usually instant, but can take up to 24 hours Facebook Reviews: Instant Yelp Reviews: Instant, but Yelp may filter them later (see below) Trustpilot: Usually within a few hours Tripadvisor: Can take 1-3 business days (they moderate reviews)
If a review doesn't show up after 48 hours:
Check if it violated the platform's policies
Make sure the customer was logged in when they submitted it
Contact the platform's support if it's still missing
Can I offer incentives for reviews?
NO. This violates most platform policies and can get you banned.
❌ Don't do this:
"Leave a review and get 10% off your next visit"
"Review us and enter to win a gift card"
Pay people for reviews
Only ask happy customers (filtering)
Offer anything of value in exchange for reviews
✅ You CAN do:
Ask every customer for honest feedback (good or bad)
Thank customers who leave reviews
Share positive reviews on social media
Make it easy with ReviewSling
Consequences of violating this:
Google/Yelp can remove all your reviews
Your account can be suspended
You can be banned from the platform
It's considered fraud in some jurisdictions
Bottom line: Just ask. Don't pay. Make it easy. Most happy customers will leave a review if you simply ask at the right time.
📊 TRACKING & ANALYTICS
How do I see how many people clicked my link?
Right now, ReviewSling doesn't have built-in analytics visible to you. We track basic stats on our end, but they're not in a customer dashboard yet.
Coming soon: A self-service dashboard where you can see:
Total link clicks
Clicks per day/week/month
Which platforms customers clicked on most
QR code scans vs direct link clicks
For now: If you need this data, email info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we can pull your stats manually.
Temporary workaround: Use a link shortener like Bitly to track your ReviewSling link clicks.
Which review platform do customers prefer?
It varies by customer demographics and your industry, but here's what we see across all ReviewSling users:
Most popular platforms (in order):
Google Reviews (60-70% of clicks) — especially from Gmail users
Facebook (15-25% of clicks) — popular with older demographics
Yelp (5-15% of clicks) — strong in restaurants, bars, home services
Instagram (3-8% of clicks) — younger customers, visual businesses
Other platforms (varies by industry)
Key insight: This is why multi-platform links matter. If you only offered Google reviews, you'd miss 30-40% of people who prefer other platforms.
Can I track which customers left reviews?
Not directly through ReviewSling. We only track clicks, not who submitted reviews.
However:
Google Business Profile shows you who left reviews (if they used their real name)
You can usually match the review timestamp to when you sent the link
If you text the link, you know who you sent it to
Privacy note: Most review platforms don't share reviewer identity data with third parties (like ReviewSling) for privacy reasons.
How do I know if my ReviewSling page is working?
Quick test:
Open your ReviewSling link on your phone
Do all the buttons load?
Tap each review platform button — does it take you to the right place?
Try scanning your QR code — does it load your page?
If everything loads and links work, your page is working.
Check regularly:
Review links can expire or break if you change your business info
Test your page once a month to make sure everything still works
Update links if you move, change business name, etc.
🔧 TROUBLESHOOTING
My ReviewSling link says "page not found" — why?
Common causes:
Typo in the URL
Make sure you copied the entire link correctly
Check for extra spaces or missing characters
Your link should look like: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Your page isn't published yet
Did you complete the sign-up form?
Check your email for a confirmation
We're still setting up your page
New pages usually go live within 10-15 minutes
If it's been longer than an hour, email support@reviewsling.com
Still broken? Email us your business name and we'll investigate.
My logo isn't showing up — what do I do?
Possible issues:
File size too large
Maximum file size is 2MB
Compress your logo using tinypng.com or a similar tool
Unsupported file type
We accept PNG, JPG, and SVG
If you uploaded a different format (like BMP or GIF), convert it to PNG first
Upload failed but you didn't notice
Try uploading again
Watch for a success confirmation message
File name has special characters
Rename your logo to something simple like "logo.png"
Avoid spaces, &, %, or other special characters in the file name
Can't fix it yourself? Email your logo to info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we'll add it manually.
Customers say my Google review link doesn't work
Troubleshooting steps:
Customer needs to be logged into Google
They must have a Google/Gmail account
They need to be signed in on their device
The link format might be wrong
Test the link yourself in an incognito browser window
Make sure it includes /review or writereview in the URL
Your Google Business Profile might be suspended
Log into business.google.com and check for warnings
If suspended, you'll need to appeal it before getting reviews
The customer is on an unsupported device
Very old phones or browsers sometimes have issues
Try from a different device
Google is having issues (rare)
Sometimes Google's review system has temporary outages
Wait a few hours and try again
Still not working? Send us your Google review link at support@reviewsling.com and we'll test it.
My QR code won't scan — how do I fix it?
Common QR code problems:
Printed too small
QR codes need to be at least 1 inch x 1 inch
If smaller, phone cameras can't read them
Poor print quality
Blurry, low-resolution prints don't scan well
Use the high-res PDF version for printing, not the PNG
Wrong color scheme
QR codes need high contrast (dark on light)
Don't print black QR codes on dark backgrounds
Damaged or dirty
Scratches, smudges, or creases can break the code
Reprint a clean version
Phone camera not focusing
Hold the phone 4-6 inches away from the code
Make sure the code is well-lit
Try a different phone/camera
Test your QR code yourself before giving it to customers. If it works for you, it should work for them.
I forgot my ReviewSling login — how do I recover it?
Currently, ReviewSling doesn't require account creation or login for basic free pages. If you created your page through the simple sign-up form, there's no password to forget.
If you can't access your page to edit it: Email info@reviewsling.com with:
Your business name
Your ReviewSling URL
What you need to change
We'll update it for you within 24 hours.
Coming soon: Full dashboard with login, password recovery, and self-service editing.
How do I delete my ReviewSling account?
Email info@reviewsling.com with:
Your business name
Your ReviewSling URL
"Please delete my page"
We'll remove it within 24-48 hours.
Note: Deleting your ReviewSling page does NOT delete your reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc. Those reviews stay on those platforms. ReviewSling just removes the landing page that links to them.
📱 PLATFORM-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS
Do customers need a Google account to leave a Google review?
Yes. To leave a review on Google, customers must:
Have a Google account (Gmail, Google Workspace, or any Google login)
Be signed in on their device
If they don't have a Google account: They can create a free one at google.com/accounts in about 2 minutes. They don't need Gmail — they can use any email address to create a Google account.
Alternatively: Direct them to Facebook, Yelp, or another platform where they already have an account.
Can customers leave anonymous reviews?
No. All major review platforms require verified accounts with real names.
Google: Requires Google account with name Facebook: Requires Facebook profile (can use nickname but account must be real) Yelp: Requires Yelp account with name Trustpilot: Requires email verification Tripadvisor: Requires account with display name
Why platforms don't allow anonymous reviews:
Prevents spam and fake reviews
Increases accountability
Reduces abuse and harassment
If a customer wants privacy: They can use a shortened version of their name (e.g., "John S." instead of "John Smith") on some platforms, but true anonymity isn't allowed.
Why does Yelp filter some reviews?
Yelp has an automated filter that hides reviews it thinks might be fake, biased, or unreliable.
Reviews Yelp commonly filters:
From brand-new Yelp accounts with no other reviews
From people who only review one business (looks suspicious)
Multiple reviews from the same IP address
Reviews posted in rapid succession
Reviews that seem solicited or incentivized
You can't control Yelp's filter. Even legitimate reviews sometimes get filtered.
What you CAN do:
Don't ask only happy customers to review you (Yelp detects this)
Don't send mass review requests all at once
Encourage customers to leave reviews on other businesses too (builds their credibility)
Don't offer incentives (major red flag for Yelp)
Filtered reviews aren't deleted — they're hidden in a "not currently recommended" section at the bottom of your Yelp page. Sometimes Yelp un-filters them later as the reviewer becomes more active.
How do I get more reviews on Google vs Yelp vs Facebook?
Different platforms work better for different tactics:
Google Reviews (Easiest to Get):
Send a direct link via text immediately after service
Most people have Gmail, so it's convenient
Post QR codes in your location
Google doesn't filter reviews as aggressively as Yelp
Facebook Reviews (Good for Existing Followers):
Post on your Facebook page asking for reviews
Engage with your Facebook community regularly
Share customer stories and tag them (they'll often leave a review)
Facebook users are already on the platform daily
Yelp Reviews (Hardest, But Valuable):
Don't mass-solicit (Yelp punishes this)
Focus on customers who already use Yelp regularly
Encourage organic discovery (people finding you on Yelp naturally)
Build relationships with your Yelp "Elite" customers
Pro tip: Use ReviewSling and let customers choose their preferred platform. You'll naturally get more Google reviews (most popular), but you'll also capture Yelp and Facebook users who prefer those.
What's the difference between Google Reviews and Google Maps?
They're the same thing. "Google Reviews" and "Google Maps reviews" both refer to reviews on your Google Business Profile.
Why the confusion:
Reviews show up in both Google Search AND Google Maps
Some people call them "Google reviews," others call them "Maps reviews"
They're all stored in the same place: your Google Business Profile
The review link is the same whether someone finds you through Google Search or Google Maps. Your ReviewSling page sends customers to your Google Business Profile, where they can leave a review that appears in both places.
💡 BEST PRACTICES
How many reviews should I aim for?
Minimum credibility threshold:
10+ Google reviews to look legitimate
5+ Facebook reviews
5+ Yelp reviews (if your industry uses Yelp)
Competitive benchmarks:
25-50 reviews to compete with most local businesses
100+ reviews to dominate your local market
200+ reviews = top tier (puts you ahead of 95% of businesses)
Industry differences:
Restaurants/retail: Need more (customers expect tons of reviews)
B2B services: Fewer reviews are normal (but quality matters more)
Professional services (lawyers, doctors): 20-30 good reviews go a long way
The real answer: More than your closest competitor. Check their review count and aim to beat it by 20%.
What's a good review response rate?
Response rate = % of reviews you respond to
Benchmarks:
50%+ response rate = Good
75%+ response rate = Great
100% response rate = Excellent (shows you really care)
Especially important to respond to:
ALL negative reviews (100% response rate here is critical)
Detailed positive reviews
Reviews with questions
First-time reviewers
Short "thanks!" responses to simple 5-star reviews are fine. You don't need to write paragraphs for every review. Even "Thanks for your support, [Name]!" counts as a response.
REVIEWSLING FAQ PAGE
Everything you need to know about getting more reviews
🚀 GETTING STARTED
What is ReviewSling?

We give you one shareable link: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Share that link with customers via text, email, QR code, or in person
Customers tap your link, see all your review platforms, and choose where to leave a review
They're taken directly to that platform to write their review
No friction. No "I'll do it later." One tap and they're reviewing you.
Is ReviewSling really free?
Yes. Completely free. Forever.
There are no hidden fees, no trials that expire, and no credit card required. We make money by offering premium services (like Google Business Profile management through SteadyRank), but the review page itself is 100% free to create and use.
What review platforms does ReviewSling support?
We support all major review and social platforms:
Review Platforms:
Google Reviews
Facebook Reviews
Yelp
Trustpilot
Tripadvisor
Better Business Bureau (BBB)
Angi (Angie's List)
HomeAdvisor
Thumbtack
OpenTable
Zocdoc
Healthgrades
Amazon Reviews
Etsy Reviews
Social Media:
Instagram
Facebook
LinkedIn
TikTok
Twitter/X
YouTube
If you need a platform we don't have listed, contact us and we'll add it.
Do I need a website to use ReviewSling?
No. ReviewSling gives you a hosted review page at reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness — that IS your review landing page. You don't need your own website.
However, if you do have a website, you can link to your ReviewSling page from it or embed it as a popup.
Click "Create Free Page"
If you need custom branding now, contact us at support@reviewsling.com and we'll see what we can do.
Right now, to update your page you need to fill out the form again with the updated info and we'd be happy to add it for you:
Your business name
Your ReviewSling link
What you want to change
We'll update it within 24 hours (usually same day).
Coming soon: A self-service dashboard where you can log in and edit your page anytime.

Log in with the Google account that manages your business
Select your business location
Click "Home" in the left menu
Scroll down to "Get more reviews"
Click "Share review form"
Copy the link (looks like https://g.page/r/ABC123/review)
Method 2: From Google Search
Google your business name
Your Google Business Profile should appear on the right side
Scroll down to the reviews section
Click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser's address bar
Method 3: From Google Maps
Open Google Maps
Search for your business
Click on your business listing
Scroll down and click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Google review link will look like one of these:
https://g.page/r/ABC123XYZ/review
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=ABC123
Paste this into the "Google Review Link" field in your ReviewSling sign-up form.
Where is my Facebook review link?
Facebook calls reviews "Recommendations."
Here's how to find it:
Go to your Facebook Business Page
Look at the URL in your browser
Copy your page name or ID from the URL
Your Facebook review link format: https://www.facebook.com/YourPageName/reviews
Example: If your page is facebook.com/JoesAutoShop, your review link is: facebook.com/JoesAutoShop/reviews
Can't figure it out?
Go to your Facebook page
Click "Reviews" tab (or "Recommendations")
Copy that URL
Paste it into ReviewSling
How do I get my Yelp review link?
Go to yelp.com
Search for your business
Click on your business listing
Scroll down and click "Write a Review" button
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Yelp review link looks like: https://www.yelp.com/writeareview/biz/your-business-name-city
Alternatively:
Find your business on Yelp
Look at the URL (it has your business name in it)
Add /writeareview to the end
Paste this into the "Yelp Link" field in ReviewSling.
Where do I find my Trustpilot review link?
If you have a Trustpilot Business account:
Log into business.trustpilot.com
Go to "Get reviews"
Copy your invitation link
It looks like: https://www.trustpilot.com/evaluate/yourdomain.com
If you don't have a Trustpilot account yet, you'll need to create one at trustpilot.com first.
How do I find my Tripadvisor review link?
Go to tripadvisor.com
Search for your business
Click on your listing
Click "Write a review"
Copy the URL from your browser
Your Tripadvisor review link looks like: https://www.tripadvisor.com/UserReviewEdit-g[location]-d[id]-[YourBusiness].html
Or use Tripadvisor's Management Center:
Log into tripadvisor.com/Owners
Go to "Marketing tools" → "Review express"
Copy your review link
What if I can't find my review link?
No worries. Here's what to do:
For Google: Make sure your Google Business Profile is claimed and verified at business.google.com. If it's not set up yet, you won't have a review link.
For Facebook: Make sure you have a Facebook Business Page (not a personal profile). Personal profiles can't receive reviews.
For Yelp: Your business listing might already exist on Yelp even if you didn't create it. Search for your business name on yelp.com — it's probably already there.
Still stuck? Email us at info@reviewsling.com with your business name and which platform you're struggling with. We'll find your link for you.
My Google review link isn't working — what's wrong?
Common issues:
1. Your Google Business Profile isn't verified yet
Go to business.google.com and complete verification (usually via postcard)
You can't get reviews until you're verified
2. You copied the wrong URL
Make sure it ends with /review or has writereview in it
Your regular Google Maps link won't work — it needs to be the specific review link
3. The link format changed
Google sometimes changes their URL structure
Try getting a fresh link from business.google.com → "Get more reviews"
4. The link requires a Google account
Customers need to be logged into a Google account to leave a review
If they don't have Gmail, they'll need to create a free Google account first
Still not working? Email us the link at info@reviewsling.com and we'll test it.
📲 SHARING YOUR REVIEWSLING LINK
How do I share my ReviewSling link with customers?
Method 1: Text Message (Most Effective)
Hi [Name]! Thanks for choosing us. If you have 30 seconds,
we'd really appreciate a quick review: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Method 2: Email Include your ReviewSling link in:
Follow-up emails after service
Order confirmation emails
Email signature
Method 3: QR Code
Download your QR code from your ReviewSling confirmation email
Print it on receipts, business cards, table tents, or signage
Customers scan it with their phone camera
Method 4: In Person Show customers your phone with the link or QR code and say: "Would you mind leaving us a quick review? Here's the link."
Method 5: Social Media Share your ReviewSling link in:
Instagram bio
Facebook page About section
LinkedIn profile
When is the best time to ask for a review?
The golden moment: Immediately after delivering great service, while the customer is still happy.
Best times by industry:
Service businesses (plumber, mechanic, contractor):
Right when you finish the job
Before you leave their property
Within 2 hours via text message
Retail/restaurants:
At checkout/payment
As they're leaving (verbally)
Within 1 hour via text receipt
Appointments (dentist, lawyer, consultant):
End of appointment
At the front desk while checking out
Same day via email
Online businesses:
Order delivered confirmation email
3-5 days after delivery (they've used the product)
Worst time: Days or weeks later — they'll forget or say "I'll do it later" (which never happens).
What should I say when asking for a review?
Keep it simple, genuine, and non-pushy.
❌ DON'T say:
"Please leave me a 5-star review" (sounds desperate, violates platform policies)
"I really need reviews" (makes it about you, not them)
"Leave a review and get 10% off" (illegal on most platforms)
✅ DO say:
In person: "Hey [Name], thanks so much for your business. If you're happy with our service, a quick review would mean the world to us. Here's the link."
Via text: "Hi [Name], thank you for choosing [Business]! If you have 30 seconds, we'd love your feedback: [link]"
Via email: "Thanks for being a great customer! If you enjoyed your experience, we'd appreciate a quick review: [link]"
Pro tip: Say "we'd appreciate YOUR feedback" not "leave us a review." Feels less salesy.
How do I download my QR code?
After creating your ReviewSling page, we email you a link to download your QR code as both:
PNG (for digital use — websites, social media, email)
PDF (for printing — business cards, flyers, signage)
Can't find the email? Check your spam folder for an email from ReviewSling with subject "Your ReviewSling Page is Ready"
Still can't find it? Email info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we'll resend it.
Can I print my ReviewSling QR code on receipts/business cards?
Yes! That's exactly what it's for.
Where to print your QR code:
Receipts (if your POS system allows)
Business cards (back side works great)
Table tents (restaurants, cafes)
Window decals
Product packaging
Thank-you cards
Invoice printouts
Service vehicle magnets
Design tip: Add text near the QR code like:
"Scan to leave a review"
"Love our service? Tell others!"
"Tap to review us"
Makes it clear what the QR code does.
Can I text my ReviewSling link to customers?
Absolutely. Text is actually the most effective way to get reviews.
Best practices for text:
Keep it short: "Hi [Name]! Thanks for your business today. Quick review? [link]"
Send within 2 hours of service (while they remember you)
Use their name (personalization increases response rate)
Don't text too often (once is enough, maybe one follow-up if no response)
Tools for bulk texting: If you want to text multiple customers at once, use services like:
SimpleTexting
EZ Texting
Twilio
Your CRM (many have built-in SMS)
Just remember: Don't spam. Only text customers who've done business with you recently.
How do I add my ReviewSling link to my email signature?
In Gmail:
Click Settings (gear icon) → "See all settings"
Scroll to "Signature"
Add this text:
---
Love our service? Leave a review:
reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Highlight the link and click the link icon to make it clickable
Save changes
In Outlook:
File → Options → Mail → Signatures
Click "New" to create a signature
Add your link at the bottom
Make sure it's hyperlinked
Save
In Apple Mail:
Mail → Preferences → Signatures
Select your email account
Click "+" to add signature
Add your ReviewSling link
Close to save
Can I share my link on social media?
Yes! Here's how:
Instagram: Add your ReviewSling link to your bio (Instagram doesn't allow clickable links in posts, only in bio)
Facebook:
Pin a post to your business page with your ReviewSling link
Add it to your "About" section
Share it in a post occasionally
LinkedIn: Add it to your profile's "Contact Info" section as a website link
TikTok: Add it to your bio
Twitter/X: Pin a tweet with your ReviewSling link
Pro tip: Don't just spam the link. Frame it as "Want to share your experience? Here's where:" or "We love feedback from our community: [link]"
⭐ MANAGING REVIEWS
Should I respond to every review?
Ideally, yes — especially these:
Always respond to:
Every negative review (within 24 hours if possible)
Every detailed positive review
Reviews from first-time customers
Reviews that mention specific employees or services
Good to respond to:
Short positive reviews (even just "Thanks, [Name]!")
Reviews with photos
Reviews that ask questions
Why it matters:
Shows future customers you care and are engaged
Gives you a chance to address concerns publicly
Improves your ranking on Google (review responses are a ranking signal)
Builds relationships with customers
Don't have time? Consider SteadyRank.ca review management service — we respond to every review professionally within 24 hours.
For now: If you need this data, email inforeviewsling.com with your business name and we can pull your stats manually.
Temporary workaround: Use a link shortener like Bitly to track your ReviewSling link clicks.
Which review platform do customers prefer?
It varies by customer demographics and your industry, but here's what we see across all ReviewSling users:
Most popular platforms (in order):
Google Reviews (60-70% of clicks) — especially from Gmail users
Facebook (15-25% of clicks) — popular with older demographics
Yelp (5-15% of clicks) — strong in restaurants, bars, home services
Instagram (3-8% of clicks) — younger customers, visual businesses
Other platforms (varies by industry)
Key insight: This is why multi-platform links matter. If you only offered Google reviews, you'd miss 30-40% of people who prefer other platforms.
Can I track which customers left reviews?
Not directly through ReviewSling. We only track clicks, not who submitted reviews.
However:
Google Business Profile shows you who left reviews (if they used their real name)
You can usually match the review timestamp to when you sent the link
If you text the link, you know who you sent it to
Privacy note: Most review platforms don't share reviewer identity data with third parties (like ReviewSling) for privacy reasons.
How do I know if my ReviewSling page is working?
Quick test:
Open your ReviewSling link on your phone
Do all the buttons load?
Tap each review platform button — does it take you to the right place?
Try scanning your QR code — does it load your page?
If everything loads and links work, your page is working.
Check regularly:
Review links can expire or break if you change your business info
Test your page once a month to make sure everything still works
Update links if you move, change business name, etc.
🔧 TROUBLESHOOTING
My ReviewSling link says "page not found" — why?
Common causes:
Typo in the URL
Make sure you copied the entire link correctly
Check for extra spaces or missing characters
Your link should look like: reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness
Your page isn't published yet
Did you complete the sign-up form?
Check your email for a confirmation
We're still setting up your page
New pages usually go live within 10-15 minutes
If it's been longer than an hour, email support@reviewsling.com
Still broken? Email us your business name and we'll investigate.
My logo isn't showing up — what do I do?
Possible issues:
File size too large
Maximum file size is 2MB
Compress your logo using tinypng.com or a similar tool
Unsupported file type
We accept PNG, JPG, and SVG
If you uploaded a different format (like BMP or GIF), convert it to PNG first
Upload failed but you didn't notice
Try uploading again
Watch for a success confirmation message
File name has special characters
Rename your logo to something simple like "logo.png"
Avoid spaces, &, %, or other special characters in the file name
Can't fix it yourself? Email your logo to info@reviewsling.com with your business name and we'll add it manually.
Customers say my Google review link doesn't work
Troubleshooting steps:
Customer needs to be logged into Google
They must have a Google/Gmail account
They need to be signed in on their device
The link format might be wrong
Test the link yourself in an incognito browser window
Make sure it includes /review or writereview in the URL
Your Google Business Profile might be suspended
Log into business.google.com and check for warnings
If suspended, you'll need to appeal it before getting reviews
The customer is on an unsupported device
Very old phones or browsers sometimes have issues
Try from a different device
Google is having issues (rare)
Sometimes Google's review system has temporary outages
Wait a few hours and try again
Still not working? Send us your Google review link at info@reviewsling.com and we'll test it.
How often should I ask customers for reviews?
Per customer:
Ask once, right after service
If no response, follow up once (24-48 hours later)
Don't ask more than twice — it's annoying
Overall:
Ask every happy customer (not just some)
Build it into your process (post-service routine)
Aim for 2-5 new reviews per month minimum (more if you have high transaction volume)
Consistency beats campaigns. It's better to get 1-2 reviews every week than to get 20 reviews one month and zero the next three months.
Google rewards recent reviews — profiles with fresh reviews rank higher than profiles with lots of old reviews and no recent activity.
Should I respond to 5-star reviews?
Yes, but keep it short.
Why respond to positive reviews:
Shows you appreciate customers
Encourages others to leave reviews too
Signals to search engines you're engaged
Builds relationships
What to say: Keep it brief and genuine. You don't need essays.
Good responses:
-"Thank you, [Name]! We appreciate your business."
-"Thanks for the kind words, [Name]! Glad we could help."
-"We're so happy you had a great experience. Thanks for choosing us!"
Add personality when appropriate:
-If they mention a specific employee, tag them
-If they mention a specific service, acknowledge it
-If they're a repeat customer, mention that
Example: "Thanks, Sarah! Mike will be thrilled to hear you loved the new tile work. We appreciate you trusting us with your kitchen remodel!"
What are the biggest mistakes businesses make with reviews?
Top 10 review mistakes:
Not asking at all (assuming customers will do it themselves)
Asking days/weeks later (when the experience isn't fresh)
Only asking happy customers (platforms detect filtering and penalize you)
Offering incentives (violates platform policies, gets you banned)
Not responding to negative reviews (makes you look like you don't care)
Arguing with negative reviewers (makes you look unprofessional)
Ignoring fake reviews (report them — don't let them sit there)
Making it too hard to leave a review (long URLs, multiple steps)
Forgetting to thank reviewers (no response to positive reviews)
Focusing only on one platform (missing customers who prefer others)
ReviewSling fixes #8. The rest is on you — but we make the technical part easy.
💳 ACCOUNT & BILLING
Is ReviewSling really free forever?
Yes. Your ReviewSling review page is 100% free with no expiration.
What "free" includes:
Hosted review page at reviewsling.com/yourbusiness
Unlimited review platform buttons
Social media links
QR code download
Logo upload
No monthly fees
No limits on how many customers can use it
Why it's free: We make money from our premium service (SteadyRank Google Business Profile management). The free review pages help businesses get started, and when they're ready for full-service management, they know who to call.
Will it always be free? Yes. We may add optional premium features in the future (custom domains, advanced analytics, etc.), but the core review page will always be free.
Are there any hidden fees?
No. Zero hidden fees.
No setup fees
No monthly fees
No per-click fees
No "upgrade to unlock" fees
No credit card required
Truly free.
The only way you'd pay us money is if you choose to sign up for our paid Google Business Profile management service (SteadyRank) — but that's completely optional.
What happens if I want to upgrade?
Right now, there's nothing to upgrade to — ReviewSling is one free product.
Coming soon: We're building premium features like:
Custom domain (yourreviews.yourbusiness.com instead of reviewsling.com/r/yourbusiness)
